Juliana de Northwood

I began training in Darton after May Crown 2008, after seeing how much joy there was when Don Emrys Tudor and Adib ibn Jelal fenced during the event.

On Monday the 2nd day of February AS 43 (2009), at Canterbury Faire, Scholar Juliana de Northwood, sponsored by Guildmaster Owain Cantor ap Hughe, did play her Free Scholar's Prize in the form of Rapier. The candidate was examined by Free Scholars Lijsbet van den Kirk and Diego of Darton, Provost Don William de Cameron and Guildmaster Don Henry Fox. The examiners agreed that the candidate had successfully played the Prize and did elevate her to the rank of Free Scholar.

On Saturday the 12th day of December AS 44 (2009) at the Rowany Yule Feast Free Scholar Juliana de Northwood, sponsored by Guildmaster ibn Jelal ad-Adib, did play her Journeyman's Prize in the forms of Single Rapier, Rapier and Dagger, and Sword and Targa. The candidate was examined by Provosts Adair MacDermid and Don Emrys Tudor, and Guildmasters Don Owain Cantor ap Hughe, Don Henry Fox, and Don Angus Galbraith. After due consideration her examiners declared that she had been successful in bearing away of the prize, and did award her the rank of Journeyman.

At Rowany Festival on Friday the 29th Day of March AS 47 (2013), Journeyman Juliana de Northwood, sponsored by Ancient Guildmaster Dameon Greybeard and Guildmaster ibn Jelal,  did play her Provost Prize against all Provosts and Guildmasters in their subtle mystery at these weapons, viz Rapier, Rapier and Dagger, Dagger, Rapier and Buckler and Rapier and Cane. Said Journeyman was present upon the field at Rowany Festival at the allotted time, and was examined by Provosts Gordon of Darton, Gilbert de Walchop, Emrys Tudor, Wolfram Flammenhertz, Guildmasters Silfren the Singer, Caleb Adolphus and William Blackwood.  After due consideration, her examiners did decide that the Prize had been achieved, and did elevate Juliana to the rank of Provost.

At Rowany Festival, on Saturday the 26th of March AS 50 (2016), the body of Guildmasters gave their leave and licence to Provost Juliana de Northwood to attempt her Guildmasters prize. The examiners for her prize were Guildmasters ibn Jelal, Owain Cantor ap Hugh, William Blackwood, Francois Henri Guyon, Caleb Adolphus, Gilbert Walhop, Silfren the Singer and Dameon Greybeard. After due consideration Juliana was judged to have been successful in her seven forms vis: single rapier, rapier and dagger, case of rapier, sword and buckler (c&t), sword and rotella (c&t) single dagger (c&t), cloak and dagger (c&t). Juliana was thereby raised to the rank of Guildmaster to the acclaim of the populous and the Queen who was in attendance throughout the prize. Juliana was presented with her black sash, that had been the sash of Guildmaster Caleb Adolphus, who had received it from Guildmaster ibn Jelal, who had received it from Ancient Guildmaster Dameon Greybeard, which was made for him by Mistress Leonie de Grey. The sash was presented to Guildmistress Juliana de Northwood by Queen Bethony Gaitskell upon the field following the prize.

At November Crown, on Saturday the 9th of November AS LIV (2019), Their Majesties Nial and Sabine did elevate Juliana de Northwood to the Order of Defence. She received two collars in recognition of this elevation. The first was given by her dear friend master Giovanni di Fiama, who gifted her with the premier collar of the Kingdom of Trimaris in recognition of the support and friendship he had received over the years. The second was received from Master Davius Saint Jacques, also of Trimaris, who gifted her with his personal collar in recognition of their friendship and mutual support. Juliana was also gifted with an Order medallion by Maestro ibn Jelal, which was the medallion he received at his elevation from Master Dameon Greybeard.
